Southtowns Regional Chamber Celebrates Excellence at the Inaugural Gala for the Southtowns

The Southtowns Regional Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated outstanding businesses, educators, students, and community leaders during the inaugural Gala for the Southtowns held Wednesday evening at Michael’s Banquet Facility in Hamburg.

The event brought together business leaders, educators, elected officials, families, and community members from across Western New York to recognize those making a meaningful impact throughout the Southtowns region.

“This event was about celebrating the people and organizations that truly make our communities stronger,” said Matt Heidt, Executive Director of the Southtowns Regional Chamber of Commerce. “From student leaders and educators to small businesses, nonprofits, and major employers, the Southtowns is filled with incredible individuals who are making a difference every day.”

The evening began with recognition of local students receiving the Student Community Service Awards for their dedication to leadership, volunteerism, and community impact:

• Brooke Heeter – Frontier High School
• Saida Hassan – Global Concepts Charter School
• Emma Rooth – Hamburg High School
• Anetta Myles – Lackawanna High School

The Chamber also awarded $500 SRCC Scholarships to students who demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement:

• Lilianne Flading – Erie 2 BOCES / Carrier Educational Center
• Taylor Field – Frontier High School
• Saida Hassan – Global Concepts Charter School
• William Shine – Hamburg High School
• Anetta Myles – Lackawanna High School
• Jacob Strianese – Lake Shore High School

The inaugural Educator of the Year Award was presented to Dr. Michael Delmont of Frontier Central School District. Dr. Delmont was recognized for his leadership in science education, innovative curriculum development, mentorship of students and educators, and nationally recognized work with Frontier’s NASA HUNCH program.

The Chamber also honored outstanding businesses and organizations from throughout the Southtowns region with the following awards:

Large Business of the Year

Non-Profit of the Year
Town of Hamburg EMS

Throughout the evening, attendees celebrated the spirit of collaboration, leadership, innovation, and service that continues to strengthen the Southtowns community.
