About the Buffalo Ski Center Freestyle Program
The Buffalo Ski Center Freestyle Program is a premier training ground for young freestyle skiing athletes in Western New York. With a focus on moguls, aerials, and terrain park development, the program offers expert coaching, skill progression, and a team-oriented atmosphere where athletes are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
What truly sets this program apart is its legacy. Buffalo Ski Center is proud to be the home club of many USA Ski Team athletes and Olympic athletes such as Matt DePeters, a 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympian in Aerials. These world-class competitors got their start right here, training on the same slopes and with the same passionate coaches who continue to inspire the next generation of athletes today.
The program supports athletes at all levels—from first-time freestyle skiers to those competing at the national and international level—offering year-round training, dryland conditioning, and access to high-quality on-snow terrain. Proceeds from fundraising events like Cabin Fever directly benefit the freestyle team by funding equipment, travel, coaching, and slope enhancements, helping ensure that the next generation has the opportunity to follow in the tracks of our hometown Olympians.
