HAMBURG, NY – February 24,2020
With the trend of major retailers closing their doors its refreshing to see a Hamburg based business rapidly expanding their foot print and services. Lee Powers, owner of Sunshine Style TV announced that she has expanded her facilities located at 4535 Southwestern Blvd Suite 208 Hamburg NY 14075 to include a new showroom and shooting production area. Powers, a long time fashion retailer opened her first boutique in the Finger Lakes Region in 2004. After re-locating back to Western New York she had boutique locations in Wilson Harbor, Downtown Buffalo and Ellicottville. After selling her businesses to concentrate on her design work (Powers has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Lake Erie Living & The Buffalo News) she realized that she missed her true passion which is fashion and helping women look & feel comfortable & confident.
In January 2017 Powers took action and started broadcasting a fashion home shopping show from her home in Hoover Beach, 3 years later she has sold nearly 40,000 items and has gained a loyal following of viewers across North America. At times her live shows will draw in over 20,000 viewers. Using her past experience as an award winning presenter for Toyota Motor Company & luxury brands such as Steuben Crystal & 7 For All Mankind she is able to hone her presentations to connect with countless women who are seeking something different. I strive to be able to offer my clients an array of items, at obtainable pricing. I spend time during my shows trying on the products, describing them to my viewers and showing them how the items will fit into their current wardrobe”. Each week in Powers Hamburg Offices hundreds of packages are shipped out across the United States.
Powers has expanded to carrying handbags, jewelry, organic skin care & housewares. “If I love it – I will find a way to offer it to you. I want my viewers to have access to the items I’m passionate about” she says.
What is the secret behind the success of Sunshine Style TV? Powers has an intricate knowledge of the buying process, each year she sources over 7 figures in items for both her boutique, along with other retailers in the United States. She maintains a long time close relationship with design houses, and her background of studying fashion at Cazenovia College has put her in touch with fabric designers whose works are featured in high end stores, because of Powers having access to this knowledge she is able to source items with identical prints for prices as low as 80 % off retail. “Our products are purchased in a very wide variety. Most items leave our offices within 10 days. There is always something new” states Powers. Some of my vendors are floored by the volume of sales I do, often the units I sell will rival retailers in large metropolitan areas. The secret is due to my live home shopping format I am able to reach the buyers in those same areas, plus my local fans as well.
Along the path to success Powers has found ways to consistently give back to the community where both she and her business are located. “We give over 10 % of our profits to local and regional charities. Recent beneficiaries include the Hamburg Water Rescue (Powers & her company were recognized as their #1 donor), Tabby Town, Ten Lives Club, 11 Day Power play, The American Cancer Society & Francis House Hospice. She is excited to be able to offer her showroom as a collection point for “Purses For Punt” which is a key fundraiser for the PUNT Foundation.
On March 6,2020 Powers will be making her expansion official as the Southtowns Chamber Of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting. She will be holding a Grand Opening Shopping Experience on March 7,2020. Powers will be the first clothing retailer in the United States to showcase “Seasalt Cornwall” an exclusive women’s clothing line sourced from the UK. Enthusiasts include Duchess Meghan Markel. “This line is eco-friendly and a fair trade employer. “states Powers. Powers will also have a variety of made in the USA items. The public is invited to attend from 10 AM – 3 PM. For her fan base & those who can’t attend Powers will host a live shopping experience Sunday the 8th at 4 PM EST on her Facebook Business Page.
Currently Powers employs 5 local residents along with hosting business interns from Orchard Park Highschool. Powers is optimistic on future growth as she is already discussing another expansion with her property management company – she states “ This week I received a report that I was in the top 8 % of boutiques in my category throughout North America, considering just a short time ago I was doing this out of my kitchen I would say at this point the sky’s the limit”.
