WEST SENECA/HAMBURG, NY— Monday, February 3rd and Tuesday, February 4th from 10am to 3pm, guest will have an opportunity to help us honor the passing of the plastic grocery bag in New York State, by receiving a free, reusable tote, while supplies last at Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home Inc.The Bag Waste Reduction Law and Our Community:
Starting March 1st, 2020, all plastic carryout bags are banned from distribution by anyone required to collect New York State sales tax. Many folks are encouraged to “Bring Your Own Bag” while shopping to help reduce waste in our community. According to the DEC, an environmentally friendly bag can be any bag designed for multiple uses such as ones made from cloth. Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home Inc. will be distributing 600 reusable bags in total, one per guest, until supplies last, at both our Hamburg location at 4199 Lake Shore Road and our West Seneca location at 1340 Union Road. Guests can stop in from 10am to 3pm on Monday the 3rd and Tuesday the 4th of February. We want to thank our community for helping us lay to rest the plastic grocery bag and reducing waste to better our environment.
