Break out the popcorn. The theme for Hamburg High School’s homecoming 2017 parade will be “Movies.”

The parade rolls out on Friday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. from Union Pleasant Elementary School and heads to Howe Field via Hawkins Avenue, Highland Avenue, Division Street and Legion Drive. In the parade, the senior class float will be decorated for “Star Wars”; juniors, “Toy Story”; sophomores, “Jurassic Park”; freshmen, “Batman.”

Football starts at 7 p.m. with Hamburg vs. McKinley. Food trucks will be on site.

The homecoming dance is set for Saturday, Sept. 30 from 7-10 p.m. at the High School.

Spirit Week will precede the weekend festivities, with Family Movie Night scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Howe Field on Legion Drive. The movie selections will be two of the four float themes and will be determined by a competition between the High School classes. A “kid friendly” showing for elementary age children will be at 5:45 p.m.; a teen showing at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Refreshments will be available. In the event of rain, the movies will be shown in the High School LMC.
